To Apply Flow Break to an Inline Element

Before proceeding with the following procedure, load the system in Duct Sizing dialog.
Follow these step to apply Flow Break option to an inline element.
  1. Load the system in Duct Sizing dialog and double click in the Summary of FLC column heading of Duct System Sizing dialog.

    Fitting Loss Coefficient Summary dialog opens.

  2. Select Group By Option Type of Fitting
    Table is sorted by fitting type.
  3. Select the desired fitting to which you want to apply the Flow break option from the table.

    The fitting is highlighted in design view.

  4. Double click on the selected fitting cell in the table to open the Flow Break option panel.
  5. Toggle ON the Flow Break option.
  6. Close the panel and close Fitting Loss Coefficient Summary dialog.
    Pop-up dialog to Reload System appears. For example
  7. Click Yes.

    System recalculates till the flow break element and in order to calculate the rest of the system, you need to reload it from the flow breaks element in a separate session.

    Note: In duct sizing grid this fitting appears as opening and airflow value needs to be entered to calculate.
  8. To check the Flow Break option applied, open the Fitting Loss Coefficient Summary dialog again. See Step 1.
  9. Select the same fitting from Step 3.
    Fitting name EXIT appears for the fitting in Type of Fitting column.
  10. To toggle Off flow breaks option, double click selected fitting cell in the table and open the panel and toggle off Flow break option.
  11. Close the panel and close Fitting Loss Coefficient Summary dialog.

    Pop-up dialog to Reload System appears same as Step 6.

  12. Click Yes.

    Recalculation considers entire system without stopping at flow breaks element.

Note: In order to calculate the rest of the system, you need to reload the rest of the system from the flow breaks element.
